NYP Taekwondo Club was officially formed up in July 1993. The training location was at Tiong Bahru Campus and 1st intake has a great response of more than 100 members.
1st Taekwondo demonstration was held on 1st Feb 1994 at Tiong Bahru Campus.NYP Taekwondo Club has represented the polytechnic to take part in 1st Inter-Varsity-Polytechnic (IVP) Taekwondo Tournament 1995. The result : 1 Gold, 2 Silver & 2 Bronze medals (Total of 9 participants).
Training ground was moved to the NYP new campus at Ang Mo Kio in July 1998. 1st Training Camp at Sarimbun Campsite was held in Nov 2000. 50 participants are involved in the camp training and the highlights were campfire, unarmed combat, tiles & planks destruction, night hiking, Standard Obstacle Course, Sparring friendly match.
Our club actively participates in yearly events such as NTU-open, National tournaments and PA-STF Tournament.
