National Inter-School Taekwondo Championships

18 Feb 11 Taekwondo Training:

Girlene mdm gave the briefing. She would encourage us to join as a helper/assistant for 3 reasons.

1) For TKD Community

Repaying the benefits to the Taekwondo Community/committee, for their hard-work and efforts in maintaining all kind of Taekwondo events.

2) For NYP TKD Community

Benefiting us in the future when we have to run an event, administrative work and registration ourselves. To also teach our junior and passing down this knowledge to one another.

3) For Ourselves

Reducing your fear in competition when you see all the people around you. Which you understood it by helping out in such job and task. It will give you a better understanding, awareness and self-confident.

This is also a good chance for us to show our positive attitude and good impression.

What we will be doing there?

Cleaning the area or arena, typing and recording competition's data, blowing the whistle to start or stop a match, timer, runner, transporter, logistic and etc etc..

Time commitment:

It will start at 0900 hrs and end at around 1630 to 1700 hrs for each day (helpers probably have to reach around 0830hrs latest).

Mdm further highlighted that not all 5 days of participation is necessary. Do read out for more details. If you're keen, please get back to me or Ee Feng by 25 Feb Friday training.

Girlene mdm will like to encourage all NYP TKD students to help out in the upcoming 2011 National Inter-School Taekwondo Championships held from 11 to 15 April 2011.

The event will be held at Toa Payoh Sports Hall as follows.

Senior/Junior Divisions (Primary Schools) - Monday 11 April 2011 (Poomsae)
Tuesday 12 April 2011 (Kyorugi)

B & C Divisions (Secondary Schools) - Wednesday 13 April 2011 (Poomsae)
Thursday 14 April 2011 (Kyorugi)

A Division (Junior Colleges) - Friday 15 April 2011 (Poomsae)

Although NYP TKD will not be eligible to take part in the above event, it is a good chance for you to learn how to run a tournament, and more importantly, give back to the TKD community by helping out. You need not come in all 5 days.

For those who are keen, please give your names & the dates you can offer your service to Henry and Ee Feng for their collation (by 15Feb), via SMS or phone call or FB event reply. Thereafter, Girlene mdm will brief you on 18Feb.
