Hi NYPTKD! The Singapore Association for the Deaf (SAD) is organising a fundraising for the Deaf! They are short of volunteers for this year's Flag Day. I hope that NYPTKD can help them to raise more funds! We can do no great things, only small things with great LOVE. Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something. So come on, let's spread the happiness together shall we! If I have missed out anyone, do help me to invite them! Thanks! Do feel free to ask your friends along!

If you are interested, please reply if you will be attending this event latest by 4th of March 2011(this coming Friday) and I will email you the registration form to fill up your particulars. Please reply asap as I have to submit all your particulars to the person-in-charge latest by next week. Thank you! :) Do take note that you can choose your own timing to volunteer between 9.30am to 6pm.
Below are the details of the Flag Day:

Fundraising Target:
In line with the National Council of Social Service's (NCSS) guideline that we should maintain an average gross proceed of at least $50,000 (total amount collected from Street Collection on the Flag Day only) over three years, our target is to raise $82,000 through recruiting 3,000 volunteers for this Flag Day.

Why is SADeaf raising funds?
Established in 1955, SADeaf has been serving the Deaf Community for the past 55 years. In
line with our mission to assist the Deaf achieve a better quality of life, integrate and contribute
to society, we have been providing a range of services to the 5,600 clients we have. These services include:

• Education;
• Tuition;
• Discount for purchase of hearing aids and assistive devices;
• Guidance and counselling;
• Interpretation;
• Social care;
• Financial assistance to the needy; and
• Job support.

The purpose of raising funds is to support our annual operating expenses of about $2.2 million
and to reach out and serve those in need in the Deaf Community.

You can reach Jessica at 9670-3950 or through Facebook private message to update her your e-mail and details. This will be an outside event and voluntary so we will not get any cca point or benefits. But that is not the point! with just small efforts, we can help people who are suffering from hearing impaired to get better assistance in their life. Hence, do not hesitate any longer to help them!
